HIGH SCHOOL AMERICAN GOVERNMENT & ECONOMICS LAB

The class studies the foundational roots of American government from the ideas developed in the Magna Carta, the Mayflower Compact, the English Rights of Man. The colonial charters and constitutions reveal American government is a result of a number of factors each of which emphasized the Biblical idea of man and government and moved men to greater religious and civil liberty. An extensive study of the US Constitution is included. Our government study includes state government as well as national government. One semester is devoted to the study of socialism and capitalism and the economic principles of free enterprise. Free enterprise is a fruit or result of a biblical worldview.

LAB INFORMATION:

11:30 am – 1:30 pm. American Government & Economics Lab

Labs are located at Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, and meet every

two weeks (on odd-numbered weeks) for 16 sessions each year.

Labs include at least one field trip each year.

8 Distictives or Advantages of the RGES Labs:

  • Students take notes, learn lab techniques in Science Labs

  • Students take notes, watch films, discuss documents and do projects in

    History Lab

  • Small student/teacher ratio of no more than 12 to 1 allows for interaction.

  • Each lab session begins with learning a Biblical idea which applies to the

    material presented that day and helps build a Biblical Worldview for the

    student

  • Science is taught for a Biblical Creation perspective

  • History is taught from a Providential History perspective

  • Labs use extensive collections and science and history resources collected

    over the past 50+ years by Mr. and Mrs. Kinzer

  • Students use lab facilities and view collections of Noah Webster College at

    the Hoffmantown campus
